About Scott Bradley

I’m a fantasy and biography author—and a museum & archives consultant—helping people and institutions make the past meaningful without sanding off its teeth.

Work With Me

At a glance

  • Based in Thunder Bay, Ontario

  • Public historian (MA) with 20+ years in museums and heritage work

  • 16 years at the National Museum of the United States Air Force

  • Museum leadership, exhibit development, interpretation, archives, governance, and policy work

  • On the writing side: The Echoes Saga (myth + history + science) and A Man in the Woods (biography)

For readers

I write stories where myth and memory collide with the machinery of history—where ruins aren’t just scenery, and the past actively pushes back.

If you like fiction with archaeological texture, philosophical pressure, and big-scale consequences, start with:

  • The Cave of Past and Present (Echoes Saga, Book 1)

  • Of Regret: A Monster’s Story (forthcoming)

If you’re new here, the best entry point is The Cave of Past and Present.

For museums and archives

I help museums, archives, and cultural organizations move from good intentions to usable structure—the kind that survives staff turnover and board changes.

What I’m best at:

  • Exhibit planning and interpretive writing

  • Strategic planning and program alignment

  • Governance, policy, and documentation that staff will actually use

  • Collections and archives organization (practical, not theoretical)

  • Accessibility and audience-first communication

What you can expect: clear deliverables, collaborative process, and work that respects community voice without turning decision-making into mush.

Why “The New Appalachian Workshop”

I grew up in Meigs County, Ohio, on a back-to-the-earth farm where nature and history were daily reality. This brand is my way of keeping that grounding while building forward—work that is practical, crafted, and built to last.
