Who I am
I grew up in Meigs County, Ohio, on a back-to-the-earth farm where history and nature shaped every day. That grounding carried me into a career in public history—earning my master’s degree, medieval reenacting, serving 16 years at the National Museum of the United States Air Force, and now consulting for museums and archives across Canada.
The Author’s Path
As a writer, I explore the borderlands between memory and imagination. My Echoes saga bends history and myth into new shapes, while The Cave of Past and Present and The Widow of the Seven Fires dive into human resilience and wonder. Alongside them, my biography of my father, A Man in the Woods, is a deeply personal work of memory and legacy.
The Consultant’s Path
As a consultant, I bring decades of museum and archives experience to help institutions preserve, interpret, and share their stories. My services include exhibit planning, accessibility strategies, archival organization, and guidance for authors navigating publishing and heritage projects.
In Both Worlds
Whether I’m drafting a novel chapter or helping a museum reimagine an exhibit, my mission is the same: to connect people to stories that matter.
